Yingchengzi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Southern peninsula of Liaoning. The Yingchengzi Stage was named by Matsushita (1931). The type section is located at Qipanm- Chayegou, Dalian, Liaoning Province.

Synonym: (营城子组)
Lithology and Thickness
The Yingchengzi Fm is mainly limestone and subdivided into two parts. Lower part is gray thick-bedded micrite limestone and stromatolitic limestone and molar tooth structures. Upper part consists of dark gray medium- to thick-bedded powder-crystalline limestone interbedded with thin-bedded powder-crystalline limestone. Wavy beddings are developed in this formation, with minor oblique wavy beddings, horizontal beddings and unsymmetrical ripple marks, with sedimentary features of scouring surfaces, birds-eye structures and desiccation cracks. The thickness is 117-894 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The basal dark gray thick-bedded limestone is conformable with the underlying Ganjingzi Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Shisanlitai Fm.
Regional extent
Southern peninsula of Liaoning. The Yingchengzi Fm is well distributed in Lüshun and Dalian area, where it thins from south to north, and has scattered exposures in the Fuzhou area.

Stromatolites: Jurusania cf. cylindrica, Kussiella cf. enigmatica, Inzeria regularis, Colonnella ramifera, Conophyton lijiadunensis, Parajacutophyton jinxianensis, Paraconophyton f. etc.; Microplants: Trematosphaeridium cf. holtedahlii, Laminarites sp., etc.
